Giving Back has Always Been our Goal
Since the very beginning we have viewed our business as a way to create positive change in our community as well as the wider world. Trying to do what's right, informs every decision we make here at Grandy, from where we source our ingredients, to how we power our bakery. To us running our company and trying to make the world a better place are one in the same, which is why our core values as individuals have become so central to our identity as a company.
Partnering with Non-Profits
We've committed to regularly partnering with non-profits of all types and sizes and donating a portion of our online website sales to these organizations.
Our Recent Partners
Equality Maine
Equality Maine's guiding values include: Community, Education, Collaboration, and Power. One of their current campaigns centers around making schools in Maine safe places for LGBTQ+ Youth. They are working with teachers, parents, administrators, principals and the community at large to support students and make sure that Maine schools are an inclusive environment for all Mainers. They are also providing LGBTQ+ youth with opportunities to volunteer with political campaigns and attend community centric events via their New Leaders Project.
In June of 2021 we donated 10% of all website sales to Equality Maine in celebration of Pride Month.
The Appalachian Mountain Club
The Appalachian Mountain Club was founded in 1876. They're mission is to foster the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors. They maintain 360+ miles of trails in the White Mountains utilizing both volunteer and professional trail crews, ensuring access to the great outdoors. They have also preserved over 70,000 acres of forest as part of their Maine Woods Initiative.
In April and October of 2021 we donated 10% of website sales to the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Full Plates Full Potential
Full Plates Full Potential is a Maine based non-profit committed to supporting Maine kids with the nutritious food they need to learn, grow and thrive. They are striving to boost participation in school lunches by increasing access to programs, supporting schools and removing barriers to entry.
In January and February of 2021 we donated $5 for every order of $50+ placed on our site to Full Plates Full Potential.
The American Civil Liberties Union
Through litigation and advocacy, the ACLU is fighting back against attempts to curtail an essential right in our democracy, the right to vote. They advocate for policies that make it easier for Americans to vote, such as the expansion of same-day and online voter registration.
In the months leading up to the 2020 election we were proud to donate 20% of all online sales of Grain-Free Granola to the ACLU's voter rights campaign.
Black Women's Health Imperative
Black Women's Health Imperative is the first nonprofit organization created by Black women to help protect and advance the health and wellness of black women and girls. They implement programs nationwide with the goal of addressing the most pressing health issues facing Black women and girls.
In Mid-July through August of 2020 we were proud to donate 20% of Sales of our Grain-Free Granola to Black Women's Health Initiative.
Black Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc. is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives.
In June of 2020 we donated 20% of all onsite sales of our Grain-Free Coconola line to Black Lives Matter.
